Question for anyone who applied in HCMC (online), how many business days did it take? Did you travel to Vietnam on a one way and but a ticket back once you were approved?
I’m in TH now and want to apply in Vietnam in January. Looking at flights but not sure whether to book a one-way or return and if return, for how long.
TIA 🙏🏼🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users shared varied experiences about applying for a visa online while in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), reporting processing times between 4 to 7 business days. Some emphasized that having complete documentation can expedite the process, while others suggested starting the application beforehand. One-way tickets were referenced positively, with travelers noting it was easier to travel without being tied to a return ticket.
and you had no issues coming in to Vietnam on a 1-way?
I looked into Hoi An and Hue (as I’ve already been to HCMC and don’t feel like hanging around there for 5-6 days), but had underestimated the distance/travel time to there 🫣🫣
They stated 5 business days a while back but some people (who uploaded all their documentation correctly) were approved in just a few working days.
You'll have to decide for yourself how "solid" your documentation is, because when they ask for additional documentation it can slow the processing down for some people
Another thing you can do is start the application in the eVisa system under your profile, upload your documents, passport stuff, etc, and then save it until you get to Vietnam when you upload the visa/entry stamp, hotel address and then apply right then. That way you get it IN as fast as you can
yeah a friend is going a few weeks ahead of me (we’re both doing the Muay Thai option, same gym), so she can find out exactly which documents are required from the gym and I’ll have them ready ☺️
