Hi everyone! DTV work action was rejected at Hanoi Embassy.

I submitted my application on the 30.9, got 3 emails asking for further documentation.

Now, in my case I had a non B visa & work permit, all of which was cancelled, expired & company ownership transferred to someone else via the lawyer I worked with.

Provided all the needed documents (bank statement with the funds, company letter, company registration outside Thailand, proof of source of income).

Then they asked for further information about work permit & business registration in Thailand - provided that alongside the proof of transfer of ownership & cancelled work permit.

Yet, it was rejected saying “not eligible for DTV, please apply for non B visa & work permit again.” Which is not the route for me as I don’t have any company anymore in Thailand.

Anyone experienced similar challenge? Any advise?

Going to the embassy tomorrow to ask for clarification…

Thank you!

Hello I'm applying in Hanoi in 2 weeks.

I’m a remote software engineer and self-employed, should I apply through the freelance or business owner pathway ?

I don’t have a salary or employment contract per se, since I pay myself through dividends and cash compensations.

However, I do have a tax return showing a good income (under a different tax/company structure last year).

I’d appreciate any guidance on how to best structure or present my application.

I only stay 6 days in Hanoi before moving back in Thailand by the way, hope it's enough...

Hi guys

I received an additional document request from the Thai Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City.

The message says:

Please provide the latest copy of your full passport, including all pages (even the empty ones). If you have a Temporary Resident Card (TRC), kindly submit it along with the passport. The photos must show the date and time they were taken.

However, I submitted the PDF without showing or writing the date and time on the photos.

Will this cause my application to be rejected ??

My WP32 has been issued, and I am currently in Laos. Could you please confirm that the application for a Non-B visa can now be fully completed online — meaning no original documents are required anymore?

In other words, I would just need to submit the application online uploading all requested documents, make the payment, and then receive the visa by email.

Thank you for your confirmation.

Hi, just want to make sure of something. Is there a desk for re-entry permits at suvarnabhumi? Could go to immigration today before a flight on Monday, but will save myself a trip if there’s definitely still a desk there. Thanks in advance.

Good morning, my non-B visa expires on October 31, 2025. I made an appointment through the immigration website for renewal on the 31st. Is that correct, or will the officers cause any problems if I renew it on the same day? Thank you for your clarification.

My wife I shall be applying for a non o visa based on retirement shortly. I live in the UK. I’ve a couple of questions if I may:

We are selling our house and will be using some of the proceeds to demonstrate to the Emabasy in London that we have the means to deposit 800k each. Does this money have to be in a UK account a set amount of time prior to applying in the UK for the visa? The ‘rules’ suggest not. And…

When we get to Thailand we shall change to the one year visa based on retirement. Before that’s issued can I leave Thailand (thinking of going to Japan for a week) without losing my ‘O’ visa or will I return to Thailand on a 60 day visa, same as any British tourist. Will my absence affect the visa process if already started?
