Hi! I am new to the group.

What is the deal on the ETA pre-approval for EU/Sweden citizens going to Thailand on a 58-day trip?

I find diverging information online, varying from "It must be used" with non-working links to application forms, to "it is/was postponed to May".

Well, now it is November. What is the actual status on the intended(?) requirement to seek ETA pre-approval?

I am aware of the new digital arrival card (DTAC) to be filled in earliest(?) three days before arrival.

I just wanted to share my experience for applying for the DTV visa as a freelancer …. I applied in Da Nang (Vietnam) last Monday , 2 days later I was asked for additional documents (high lighted freelancer income on bank statements/entry stamp to Vietnam/Company registration for the agency i currently have a contract with).

I supplied everything that was asked for and just had it it approved today, so that’s 7 days in totall including the weekend. I used chat GTP to support my application , which was really efficient and made my application clear and structured. The prep was the hardest part … all in all a smooth process. Good luck to everyone else applying 🙏

DTV visa extension has been a nightmare, and I can see that I am not the only one who is having/ had this issue. I am wanting to do a border run (possibly Singapore over night or Malaysia land crossing). Does anyone know if there is a minimum you have to stay away from thailand for on the DTV? or can you just simply fly over night and thats ok?

Or the land crossing, has anyone done this?

not visa related but I think interesting, so in the long process of cancelling my life in England for my move to Thailand on the 1st of December, you know it's easily to start something, 5 mins online and your a new member but trying to cancel or change your address is a different matter, I have two private pensions so went online to change address not so straight forward as I thought , they need evidence of my new address but what they are asking for is all westernised paper work, gas bill council tax bill, etc, so I phoned up and said the only thing I can send your is a copy of my tm30 from imagination and maybe a bank letter, would be interested how you got over this problem,

thanks, see you all in December, lol

I’m getting really confused by the ED VISA I’ve been emailing a few schools for information etc .. and I was aware of that every 90days you have to go to immigration and extend your Ed visa to keep studying .

But one school wrote back to me and said that you have to leave Thailand after 6 months and apply again !!! This is the first time I’ve heard them say this …

We have just obtained the 30 day extension from the 60 day visa exemption in Hua Hin Immigration (Blúport office). Photo is longer required.

Face snapshot is taken directly at immigration counter.

Plan on moving to Thailand under the LTR Visa program; my wife and son will fall under the LTR visa as dependents. So far pretty easy. My son will be attending school within a year after moving, and from what I am being told, he will need an ED Visa, as he will not be allowed to attend school on an LTR visa (doesnt make sense but whatever). I have also read that we have to apply for his ED visa in another country, it cannot be applied for while we are here. Is this in fact true, will we have to fly back to the Philippines make an appointment at the Thai Embassy and apply for an ED visa to allow our son to go to school here? Will he be able to hold both visa's, and if so, can/will the LTR visa be primary? Very contradictory what I am reading online; hoping somebody has gone through this already and can provide some insight.
