What is the process for applying for a DTV Workcation Visa in Thailand from Hanoi?

Approved in Hanoi! (US Passport - DTV Workcation Visa based on Amazon Seller Account)

Sharing my experience in case it helps someone:

I came to Hanoi specifically to apply for the Thailand DTV visa. On my last entry to Thailand about 3 months ago, immigration pulled me aside and asked why I visit so often and why I stay for 2 months at a time. I explained I was just a tourist who loves Thailand, but that didn’t convince them. The officer asked to see my funds, then warned me: “This time I let you in, but next time you can’t use the free visa. You must apply for a visa.”

So, here I am.

I arrived in Hanoi with a 10-day plan. Because my return ticket was for 10 days later, the Vietnamese e-visa I received was also only 10 days. That gave me zero buffer in case Thailand asked for extra documents, which definitely stressed me out.

I applied for the DTV on Sat, Nov 22, and for 4 full days it stayed at “Pending Documents Check.” I emailed the embassy, no reply, but two hours later the status suddenly changed to “Pending Approval.” It stayed there for 2 more days.

By that point, I had only 2 days left on my Vietnam visa, so I went in person to the Thai Embassy in Hanoi to ask about the status. They simply told me: “Still processing. Please wait.”

Two hours after that… Approved. The confirmation and documents were sent to my email.

So, I applied On Nov 22 and received approval on Nov 27, all together it took 5 full days but only 4 Business days, or 3 Business days if you don't count the first Business day which was Monday Nov 24.

3-month checking account statement.

Amazon Seller Central account screenshot.

Amazon 1099-K.

IRS Schedule C (Profit or Loss from Business).

That’s all they needed, no extra requests.
