Looking for a Thai insurance. Like AIA or AXA.

I know insurance is not necessary for the visa. And I don’t want to deal with travel insurance. They’re never as seamless as getting the native lock insurance. What are my options?

Hey guys, I’m applying through London embassy online. Just got the email for further documents, I wanted a bit of advice on this so I make sure I get it right-

So firstly they basically want a cover letter explaining my freelance work & making sure it doesn’t infringe on local laws regarding working in Thailand

&

Secondly, I run an online store selling clothes from the uk, so should I write a description of that and link my social pages & website to them?

Any help or advice would be great.

Thank you!

(For ppl who are applying from uk, for ref I applied on the 5th and received this email on the 8th)

Sorry if this was asked before - the embassy is taking really long to process my application. Appears to be a common issue at this embassy. I want to ask:

1. Can I leave the country while my visa is still processing?

2. Can I enter Thailand on a visa exemption (60 days) while my visa is still processing?

I was in the country of residence at the time of application and I still am. But it would be great to not have to not have to wait in the country for what appears to be no reason. Thanks

I've been reading a lot about 'high' season or 'low' season when it comes to apply for a visa.

Can Anyone clarify when is high and when is low?

I guess during xmas is high as well as during summer. Are we now in the high or the low season?

Also, does anyone know the processing time on the Madrid Embassy? I see no info about the times regarding the DTV, i see it for tourism only.

Thank you for your help!!

I submitted all my documents and application on sunday 05 jan, got a message today requesting extra documents. I was expecting the passport pages request but it said it wanted additional details of my current role, including cv, portfolio, work examples.

I applied as a remote worker, working for an employer in my home country so i don't have a portfolio, can't really show work examples due tonconfidentiality clause and i don't have an up-to-date cv.

I initially provided my contract, a letter from my boss approving me to work remotely and an extract from chamber of commerce for the company I am employed at.

I don't really know what else I can provide them, and am slightly worried now.

Hi all I have a very good friend from the UK who is looking to move to Thailand and live there, so I'm looking for advice and thoughts about what Visa he maybe able to apply for, so for work the plan is to work remotely for a company based in the EU, so first thought would be the DTV, however although the role will be mainly remote the company does have some equipment in a data centre in Thailand and as part of the role my friend would need to maybe once a week go and work on the hardware side of things, repair/replace/upgrade, so this hands on part makes me think the DTV is out as an option, so my thoughts go to starting a consultant service in the UK to apply for a business visa, but not sure if this would allow hands on work or if starting a consultant type service in Thailand is an option somehow, but the problem there is probably 4 Thai staff for 1 work permit as my friend won't need staff, so if anyone has any thoughts please share, thanks in advance...

Sorry I should of been more clear in my question, my friend has NOT been asked by any company to work illegally, it's important to him to stay legal, I do also agree that a work permit would be needed, and this being the case, what are peoples thoughts on the best way to do this please, I don't think an EU based company could help provide a work permit as they don't employ Thai staff and don't have a branch office....

Hi all,

A friend is coming to Thailand at the end of the month on visa exemption and has just realised her passport expires within 4 months since her entry in the country. She only plans to stay for 3 weeks on holidays and has a ticket back home.

I believe Thailand does not apply the “6-month validity” rule but simply requires for the passport to be valid throughout the stay.

I highly doubt she would have any issues at immigration once in Bangkok but the airline might refuse boarding. So I am looking for an official source stating that the passport only needs to be valid for the duration of the stay. Any leads on where to find it?

Thanks!

P.s. she has already applied for a new passport but might take too long.

Hello everyone!

I’ve just started the process for the DTV Visa and I’m currently in Thailand. I’m looking for insights about which Thai embassy in Asia you’ve found to be the most efficient and smooth in processing the DTV Visa (Soft Power).

I’m also curious to know if any embassy would accept a bank statement showing funds of 500,000 THB that have been recently transferred, as part of the standard visa requirements.

Thank you for sharing your experiences!
