Just a reminder to everyone that when you're asked to submit additional documents your 5 business day clock resets the day you send them in. Plus you don't count that day as one of the days. So for those stressing about timing, keep that in mind. Good luck everyone!
Advise please! We are a family who are in HCMC in Vietnam and applying for DTVs. My husband had his approved on the 4th March and we submitted mine and our kids as dependents after that. We were asked for additional documents on the 10th and uploaded those that same day. We have been here now for 4 weeks and our kids are going a bit crazy. The consulate doesn’t pick up the phone and we’ve emailed but no replies. Any advice on how we can check what timeframe we might be looking at or any suggestions for what else we can do to find out? P.s. I know it can take time, so only helpful or supportive comments please! 🙏
Quick question please. I have submitted my DTV application. If they request additional documents, is this done in the Thai e visa dashboard somehow or do you respond to an email?
I submitted my DTV application from Indonesia (Jakarta) on 15/01/2026, and I received a request for additional documents on 02/02/2026. I have now uploaded all the requested documents
I’d love to hear from anyone who has recently submitted additional documents for their DTV application:
• How long did it take for you to receive feedback after submitting the extra documents?
• Did you get approval directly, or were there further requests?
Any insight would be extremely helpful to understand what to expect. Thank you so much in advance! 🙏
Is it possible approval for the DTV approval to be given over the weekend / outside usual working hours (9-5ish) ? We applied in Hanoi on Monday, yesterday (Thursday) we received a request for an additional document to confirm our location. It is now Friday but are current accommodation ends tomorrow and we are wondering how many days extra accomodation we should extend. Appreciate we can’t know when we will hear back but if approval is never given over the weekend then we might as well book until Monday, otherwise we will just book day by day, hence the ask - thank you in advance! ☺️
Hi everyone, I’ve received a request for additional documents for my DTV application and would really appreciate some clarification from those who’ve been through this.
1. Full passport copy
They ask for the *latest copy of my full passport, including all pages (even blank ones)*, and state that *“photos must show the current date and time they were taken.”*
* How do they expect the date and time to be shown?
* Is adding a timestamp on the photo acceptable, or should I photograph my passport next to a phone screen showing the current date and time?
* I no longer have a Temporary Resident Card (I had one previously, but i no longer work in Vietnam).
2. Financial evidence (500,000 THB)
My funds are split across:
* A South African bank account, which shows the 500k minimum (my home country)
* A Vietnamese bank account - where I lived/worked for 3 years, showing my salary (from 6 months ago until November 2025)
* Wise (current employer started paying me ~2 months ago)
They ask for:
* Proof the accounts are mine
* Bank statements (last 3 months)
* Income/salary for the last 6 months (highlighted)
* Income tax for the last 2 years
Has anyone successfully submitted multiple accounts/countries + Wise? Any tips on how to package this cleanly?
1. Current work details
They request:
* CV or portfolio
* Examples of work with supporting materials
Should I include:
* CV + degrees
* Contract (from new employer and old employer)
* Proof of payment
What level of detail is *actually* expected here?
Thanks in advance — any practical advice from approved DTV holders would be greatly appreciated.
I hope to get some answers here from people who have experience with KL. (I read too late that it was the worst)
I applied for the DTV on the 06.11.2025 and they requested additional documents on the 10.11.2025 since there was a weekend in between. I uploaded all the documents the same day in the evening and since then heard nothing, no additional questions or requests.
But it's been 6 working days and since KL doesn't communicate I wanted to get some realistic time frames.
How long did it take for you guys to get approved after additional documents? I've read so many different things and really want only answers from people with KL experience.
