It is my understanding that when you apply for a marriage visa Bank bank freezes your funds.

Do they only freeze the 400,000 thb or do they freeze all the money in the account?

Kalasim immigration

Non O retirement Visa.

Help below if required.

Arrived in Thailand 5 days ago, under a Non O visa.

I’m from the UK.

Public holiday in Thailand, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Immigration reopened today Monday morning. I needed a TM30, and Certificate of Residency so I could open a bank account.

I got there at 8.50am, 10 minutes before it opened as I knew it would be busy. I live with my Thai girlfriend in our (hers) house, so difficult to do the TM30 online as not a business or hotel.

She came with me, I was one of the first in the queue all sorted in 20 minutes. The cost was 500 baht. Left with the TM30 stapled to my passport and my certificate of Residency in an envelope.

Could not have been easier, and lovely people.

I then went to get a new SIM card from the AIS shop, then opened a bank account with Kasikorn Bank.

All sorted in 4 hours 😀

Documents required.

TM30 & Certificate of Residency.

Passport

E visa printed copy

Passport size photo

My girlfriend’s ID card.

My girlfriend’s house book.

Cost 500 baht.

New sim for my phone.

( I have my own phone number as an e-sim)

Passport only.

Cost, sim 100 baht, and 300 baht a month for a good data plan.

Opening a bank account ( Kasikorn Bank)

Passport

Certificate of Residency

Phone with new Sim (so they can upload the app and open the account)

Usual bank questions, home address in uk, what you salary was, new phone number, ect.

Cost was 300 baht. ( but I gave 3000 baht cash to put in)

The whole process took 4 hours.

I know I was probably lucky with my timing.

And I know all provinces are different.

And I know it depends on the person.

All that worry for nothing.

Now I wait for 60 days for my funds to season, and apply for my extension.

I hope all who are trying find it as easy as I did.

If you want to stay in Thailand without depositing 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account I occasionally see people advise obtaining an OA visa, doing one border bounce after approx a year and then when the visa expires after nearly 2 years return to the UK and apply for a new OA visa to start the process again. I'm just curious if this can be done, for example, during a 1 month holiday or do you effectively have to stay in the UK for 183 days to re-establish yourself as a permanent resident before reapplying for the visa? The visa application does ask you to upload proof of permanent residency.

Returning the favour as a grateful member of this community- DTV Approved in HCMC and officially back in Thailand with a 6 month passport stamp.

I am Canadian and applied for the 'workcation' DTV as a Preply teacher.

I submitted my application to the HCMC embassy on June 30th, checked the website for a status update on July 2 and it showed 'pending approval'. I received the approval email with my DTV on July 7th so it took 1 week total (including the weekend) to be processed and approved.

Here's what I submitted:

Proof of location:

~~Boarding pass to Vietnam~~

~~Vietnam Visa~~

~~Entry stamp to HCMC~~

~~Images of passport full book including empty pages (1-52)~~

~~Proof of accommodation (hotel confirmation) ~~

~~Selfie outside hotel with key~~

~~Onward ticket of flight to ~~Thailand

Work Docs:

Freelance teacher portfolio with cover letter explaining:

~~what I do, where my students are sourced, how I get paid, approx monthly earnings, why I'm applying, and stated that I will not seek work locally in Thailand.~~

~~TEFL cert~~

~~My profile stats (generated within the platform) including hours & lessons taught to date, attendance rate, etc.~~

~~student roster~~

~~earnings spreadsheet~~

~~Screenshots of my calendar from the previous month and upcoming weeks showing completed and upcoming lessons~~

~~Student reviews~~

Financial Docs:

* My exported payment history from Preply

* 6 months of Bank Statements with all deposits from my work highlighted (I also highlighted the conversion amount from USD to CAD to make is VERY easy for them to match everything up). I also made a note about a percentage that Preply deducts when transferring to non-US accounts- again to make everything as clear as possible

* The 2 most recent statements showed a balance of over 500k baht

Happy to answer questions from anyone hopping on the same boat!

Does sponsorship letter work?

My dad can show the funds and make sponsorship letter, but all the visa agents I ask says I need to have the funds in my own account, and that sponsorship letter doesn't work. I am from Denmark and currently in Thailand.

So im just wondering what your experience is with sponsorship letter, if and how it works.

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DTV from Thai Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.

I’m currently working as a short-term remote worker, and I have bank statement showing an amount equivalent to over 500,000 THB. But , this amount was deposited only a month ago.

I would like to ask:

• How long should I wait to be strong financial proof in my account?

• What kind of documents should I prepare and submit as a remote worker?

Thank you in advance for your advice.
