Yes. I live in Ubon and it’s a 1 hour drive 70km to Chong Mek boarder. So I just walk over the boarder and get a stamp. Very simple this DTV for me and my location.

DTV…. For 5 years cost me 10,000 THB. After I paid in person I had to go back a few days later for interview. It took maybe 10 days to get the DTV certificate so I stayed in Vientiane for the 2 weeks.

I went to Vientiane for 2 weeks. Applied online. After about 1 week they told me to pay at the Embassy and about 5 days later I had an Interview in the office. Only about 3 simple questions about my application and my address. About 1 or 2 hours later they emailed my Visa.

he said he is using his Australian phone. My phone for Australia Optus plan is 1,000 THB per month and 100 Baht when I use International roaming for the day.

Overall any Thai SIM or plan is cheaper than Australia.

Is the 5 year DTV 180 days plus 180 days then leave the country after 6 months for a boarder cross?

Then you get another 180 and 180 days?
