Hello guys, I’ve got a couple of questions about extensions vs border run.
We’ve had our DTV visa for over a year now and living in Bangkok. During that year we were in and out of Thailand every 2 months so never had to do 90 day reporting nor extension.
We last reentered in July, already did our first 90day report in September and our 180 day stay ends in December.
Would you say it’s easier to do leave and re-enter like a visa run OR do another 90 day reporting followed by a DTV visa extension and get another 180 day stamp?
Has anyone encountered any issues with doing a DTV visa extension?
If “visa run” like option is easier, I was thinking of flying to KL for the weekend and back as it’s the cheapest flights for our dates. Are there any easier options you’d recommend?
Many thanks in advance
Late TM30 and Non O Marriage visa extension
UPDATE: 18/11/2025
I went into immigration today and they did my TM30 without saying anything and didn’t incure any fine thankfully
Stating today as the start date for the TM30.
Thanks for all your feedback and support 🙏 ❤️
================
Hi Everyone,
I am applying for my Non O Marriage Visa extension for the first time soon in just about a week.
I arrived in Thailand to start the visa that I obtained in London on September 25th 2025.
My wife did a TM30 online the next day then.
But we went to Australia to visit my mother in late October for 1 week.
I just remembered now my wife didn’t do a TM30 online when we came back from Australia about 3 weeks ago.
I should have reminded her, so it’s my fault not hers.
My wife is going to do the form tonight online or maybe I will go and do it in person tomorrow to make sure it’s done with a power of attorney form.
Is it a problem for my wife being late reporting or my non O marriage Visa extension application?
As long as I get it done tonight or tomorrow at immigration personally a week before my application?
Thanks in advance 🙏
ADMIN; Please ignore my last post
Has anyone on a DTV Visa done a border bounce through Chiang Khong recently? Is it possible to come back same day? I would prefer to go solo rather than by bus with a visa company. Thanks all!
Anyone know the best long term visa route for a Us Army Vet who is on Va disability income of around $3600 per month ?
Im 38th years old and already use my GI bill for both BA and Masters degree
I have to file my first 90 day report after my last trip to Vietnam in August. My online filing was denied because it needs to be done in-person. I don't feel like going to the immigration office, so I reached out to a visa center who will do it. They are telling me they do not need my passport and they can do it by me sending in photos of my passport. Is this accurate? The last time I went through the Visa office, they needed to take my passport for a few days while they submitted my report.
Within how long do you have to enter Thailand once the DTV visa request has been approved?
I can submit the application from Europe in December, but before going to Thailand in June I need to travel to Bali first.
And I want to apply for the DTV Soft power.
Has anyone went through DTV application in Argentina (Buenos Aires).
We do have a consulate here but they do not reply to any emails...
Hello everyone, I'm working on my DTV visa. I have a question for the experienced among us. When entering Thailand, were you asked to show a ticket for a flight out of Thailand? I'm debating whether to close a ticket when I don't know when I'll be leaving Thailand during the year.😊
My husband and are Canadian. We have a 6 month multi sntry tourist visa (applied in Canada) until March 9. We have tickets leaving Thailand April 21. Our question is two parts....when we leave on an exit closer to March (we know we will have to leave a time or two before that) do we apply for a new visa outside of Thailand. Or can we reenter March 2 (example) and get another 60 day stamp or does the visa require it to have 15 days left on it.
Second part. If one has a proper visa (not exemption) like us. Can we re enter Thailand and use Visa exemption option until April 21.
Appreciation your kind comments.
