Hello Philip. We are Canadian and if you have a premium credit card it will cover you for 45 days for travel and emergency medical but of course you want to confirm. For 60 days we just use RBC travel insurance and you can get single or multi trip. And it is full travel and emergency insurance so more extensive. Bith options for us cover extensive and repatriation. Depending on age will be a factor as well. Credit cards don't cover over 65 (we have been told) but our insurance does.

We have the 6 months Multi entry Tourist visa. Had no issues upon entry to Thailand. It started when we received it via email which for us meant we missed one month. We applied to early not realizing that. When we arrived in Thailand in Nov they Stamped us in, marked it TR Evisa and we had to leave by Jan 2. We went to Vietnam mid Dec. Came back to Thailand even easier 2nd time. Stamped us back in until Feb 15. We will leave again before Feb 15 and come back on March 4. Our visa ends on March 9 but we will get another 60 days. We can then extend for another 30 days.

Thank you for a great post. We have METV visa as well. No requirement to print it out but we did anyway. Immigration only looked at our phone copy. No need for proof of funds but we had it in case we needed. Didn't ask for return flight either but we had it. This was at Bangkok Airport. Likely slightly different process as we did in Canada before we left. We had our TDAC done online as well and was not asked for it as it is linked through immigration already. Very smooth process.

thanks so much Rio. That is what we are looking at as well. It was more the end period. Our 6 months visa ends March 9 but we don't leave to April 21. From what I gathered from great people here is just leave before March 9 and will get another 60 days. We fly home after April 21. We may decide to get our retirement 90 days once we gwt back to Canada. Then return

appreciate your feedback but not sure what you mean. We have a proper visa then go back to Canada and when we return in fall will have another proper visa. We can do the retirement visa but haven't gone that far yet.
