My husband and are Canadian. We have a 6 month multi sntry tourist visa (applied in Canada) until March 9. We have tickets leaving Thailand April 21. Our question is two parts....when we leave on an exit closer to March (we know we will have to leave a time or two before that) do we apply for a new visa outside of Thailand. Or can we reenter March 2 (example) and get another 60 day stamp or does the visa require it to have 15 days left on it.
Second part. If one has a proper visa (not exemption) like us. Can we re enter Thailand and use Visa exemption option until April 21.
Appreciation your kind comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post discusses a Canadian couple with a 6-month multientry tourist visa expiring in March. They inquire about the process of re-entering Thailand before their exit date in April, specifically whether they can receive a new 60-day visa stamp upon re-entry and utilize visa exemption options before their departure. Community responses confirm that they can exit and re-enter for a new 60-day stamp, which can be extended, but caution against using the visa exemption multiple times within a year.
My wife and I have the same multi entry E visas. We are Canadian as well and arrived October 18th. We are flying from Krabi to Kuala Lumpur at a cost of $83 Canadian per person each way. We are staying in Malaysia for 2 days. We are repeating the same trip after our 2nd 60 days. For this trip we booked a hotel in Krabi for a few days before and after our flight. So we get 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak.
thanks so much Rio. That is what we are looking at as well. It was more the end period. Our 6 months visa ends March 9 but we don't leave to April 21. From what I gathered from great people here is just leave before March 9 and will get another 60 days. We fly home after April 21. We may decide to get our retirement 90 days once we gwt back to Canada. Then return

Although an METV is only valid for 6 months if you time your exit and entry correctly you can get almost 9 months in Thailand

Visa exemption will only be issued 2 times in a calendar year
appreciate your feedback but not sure what you mean. We have a proper visa then go back to Canada and when we return in fall will have another proper visa. We can do the retirement visa but haven't gone that far yet.

You can exit and re-enter anytime before Mar 9 and be stamped in for 60 days. Which can be extended for another 30 at any immigration office for 1900 baht. No problem. Enjoy
thanks Todd. That was how I read it but always need that extra advice as there are so many things to be aware of. Totally understand can change again lol
yes we were Herr last year on visa exemption and even then got detained by immigration when we did it the right way. This time we opted for the 6 month multi entry tourist visa in anticipation. No worries just want to work within the lines!!! Thanks again
last year yes we went to Vietnam for 2 weeks so worked well. We used to live in Koh Tao way back in the day. Will absolutely reach out as we do jntend to come to Samui in New year. Where in Canada
