Late TM30 and Non O Marriage visa extension

UPDATE: 18/11/2025

I went into immigration today and they did my TM30 without saying anything and didn’t incure any fine thankfully

Stating today as the start date for the TM30.

Thanks for all your feedback and support 🙏 ❤️

================

Hi Everyone,

I am applying for my Non O Marriage Visa extension for the first time soon in just about a week.

I arrived in Thailand to start the visa that I obtained in London on September 25th 2025.

My wife did a TM30 online the next day then.

But we went to Australia to visit my mother in late October for 1 week.

I just remembered now my wife didn’t do a TM30 online when we came back from Australia about 3 weeks ago.

I should have reminded her, so it’s my fault not hers.

My wife is going to do the form tonight online or maybe I will go and do it in person tomorrow to make sure it’s done with a power of attorney form.

Is it a problem for my wife being late reporting or my non O marriage Visa extension application?

As long as I get it done tonight or tomorrow at immigration personally a week before my application?

Thanks in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat is applying for a Non O Marriage Visa extension but forgot to file the TM30 after returning from a trip. Despite concerns, recent updates indicate that the TM30 can be filed late without incurring a fine, provided it is submitted soon after the oversight. Community members shared varying experiences related to late filings, with some stating fines are common while others suggest that immigration often overlooks such delays, especially if the individual returns to the same address.

Just get it done online before you go, and they likely won't care about the past.

You’ll might get fined, I got 800b fine and a warning. But that should be all…

Having masted the TM30 application with some help from Pattaya ex-pats group, probably easy for computer competent people, but l found it tricky, now before arrival to Thailand we have the Tdac to complete which has the same information in fact more in depth information, so was hoping TM30 abolished, but apparently not

I travel 5 times at least every year so new TM30 every arrival into kingdom.

Officially it CAN be a problem. Go to the IO. But be humble, be nice. Complain yourself, be even shocked how you could forget THE TM30.

Depending the officer it can be fine or you have to pay the fine.

Some years ago I tried to do TM30 online, and I thought I managed. But after 3 months visiting IO to make TM47 and extension, the officer said I have not done TM30. Luckily they understood how stupid farang can be. No extra charge and TM30, TM47 and extension was done at the same time.

Fine at immigration before

I think the maximum fine is about 2,000thb, but normally is not that much.

If returning to new address you need new TM30. If returning to same address at which you previously filed a TM30 no need. During your extension of stay process a new TM30 will be filed anyway.

I think it depends on which immigration you visit and on what day.

I've just renewed mine (same address) at jomtien. I asked if I had to do it and it was a definite yes.

@Euan *******
it even depends on which IO you are asking, but nevertheless the Police Regulations were amended 5 years ago to remove the need for new TM30s when returning to the same address.

@Pete ******
I had to do tm30 even though I returned to same address. Jomtien office.

you file a TM30 per permitted to stay stamp so it depends on how you entered the country, if on an extension of stay your original filing is good for the entire year stay, no need to repeatly file if returning to the same address.

every time you enter on an OA you get a fresh 1 year permitted to stay stamp. New stamp = new TM30 even if returning to same address.

@Pete ******
that did not happen for me. Airport immigration disputed that rule and I was stamped only to the of my original one year term.

They usually don't care at Immigration if you return to the same address. Keep the receipt inside the passport until they tell you to renew it.

I don't think that shorter time will matter to much

Something similar happened to me when my mother-in-law forgot to fill it in on myreturn. We went to immigration 3 weeks later with it and had to pay 850 fine. Got a slap on the wrist for being late. Not sure if every area is the same though. This was in s. Thailand and at least 5 years ago.
