Can I do a same-day border bounce through Chiang Khong on a DTV Visa?

Has anyone on a DTV Visa done a border bounce through Chiang Khong recently? Is it possible to come back same day? I would prefer to go solo rather than by bus with a visa company. Thanks all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of a same-day border bounce through Chiang Khong on a DTV Visa seems feasible, although experiences may vary. Some users report recent inconsistencies, with some travelers on DTV visas being refused border bounces. Generally, if you're willing to pay a visa fee of around $30-$45 to enter Laos, it should be manageable, but checking for the latest updates from visa run agencies is advisable.

Check with Chiang Mai Visa Run they used to go to the Lao border in Chiang Khong 3-4 times a week from Chiang Mai

They will know if these changes to visa exempt entries are affecting people who hold valid visas too or not

Keep asking for very recent info or call some of the visa run people.

Last few days people on DTVs (and unclear but I think also ME tourist visas) were refused border bounces at Laos.

Depending on your passport you might have to pay for a visa which costs around $30-$45

So if you don’t mind spending $30-$45 for a couple of hours in Laos

Yes you should have no problems with a a same day border bounce with the DTV

But it’s inconsistent at best

Good Luck
