My passport is expiring in March 2026. I have a DTV visa, and traveling in and out of Thailand frequently. My DTV visa is valid until 2029. How do I go about renewing passport?

I would prefer to renew passport in my home country, which I visit frequently.

I’m on a Thai dependent visa, so I know I cannot work in Thailand.

My question is: if I keep my Thai dependent visa but work remotely for clients from EU, while temporarily staying in neighboring countries like Vietnam and Laos (typically on tourist visas, about 2 months each), are there likely to be immigration issues in those countries or when I return to Thailand?

I’m asking because I’ll eventually need to switch to a DTV and will need to show income from those months.

Has anyone here had experience with this situation?

hello, i need advice for visa ,im 61 years old man and my wife 40 years old ,she not thai lady ,i know very well thailand for more 30 years .i want stay 6 months in thailand and 6 months in spain during raining season in thailand , soon i buy house in thailand ,i dont want put money in the bank for visa . what i can do ? visa run after 3 months or other? This is going to sound stupid… But how strict is the 6 month passport validity? I’m trying to plan a last minute family trip and just found out that one of our passports will be under the 6 month mark by a few days. 😑 US Passport, 1 week trip in Thailand. Will be flying from Germany.

1. What should I put on visa number if I’m on non-o extensions? The number at the top of the current extension or the original non-o visa number from the embassy?

2. Departure flight details-since I live in Thailand I can live that blank, right?

Working in Kazakhstan and returning to Thailand soon, so decided to finally apply for a non-O as a prelude to getting a retirement visa. Been on my agenda for a while. Wanted to be able to open a bank account next visit.

1. Submitted application online on Thursday night.

2. Received a request to send a copy of my Kazakh work visa on Friday and did so on Friday evening.

3. Received my non-O visa this evening (Monday) at 21:25!

Lots of very negative people on some of these Thailand forums. Perhaps it’s the price of living through daily hangovers that causes the negativity towards Thailand? A form of alcohol induced depression, maybe not helped by their lifestyle and continually trying to beat the system? Anyway, just a thought.

How quickly would foreign people wanting to visit the home country, of many of these tourists/retirees, have to wait to get a visa granted and how many hoops would they have to jump through?
