Update on my husband's married DTV with the Thai Consulate of Los Angeles: Came back today to tell him to reapply to the visa after he had mistakenly "forgot" to put a hyphen in his last name. Note: The message did not tell him that he's denied a visa.

Applied: Sept 12, 2024

Reapplied: Sept 28, 2024

At the end of the reapplication, was expected to pay another $400 (.... really?)

Remember everyone who happens to have hyphens in their names or some middle name. INCLUDE THEM! Save the $400 mistake that my husband made.

Non-B visa (employment) question.

Currently in the US (LA Consulate jurisdiction). Have an offer for a job in Phuket. The employer is currently working on the work permit paperwork I'll need to submit through the e-visa portal.

On the LA Consulate website there is both a 90-day option ($80) and a 1 year option ($200).

My plan is to work high season for about 5 months.

My understanding is that near the 90 day mark I'll need to leave the country (she said go-to Malaysia) and re-apply for another 90 day visa. She made it sound like it's a one-day process. Does this sound correct?

She also said don't bother with the 1 year option as "they never get approved and it's a waste of money". Any thoughts here on why this option is more difficult?

If I could get the 1 year Non-B visa would that preclude me from having to leave the country at 90 days, or is the exit/entry still required on a 1 year Non-B visa also?

Just trying to understand the options.

Thanks in advance!

hello

Are tickets from Thailand to France cheaper in Thailand?

If I take one way ticket to Bkk and rebook one way ticket to Hanoi or luang prabang, no concern about boarding paris and immigration to Bkk?

Thank you for seeing two answers 🙂

-------------

Bonjour

Due to fly into Bangkok. This will be the third visit in a year. My other two visits I have left well within visa time. My question is can I leave my home country on my home country passport, this is the one with the Thailand entry and exit stamps, but on arrival in Thailand use my UK passport to enter Thailand as it has not been used before, then use it to leave Thailand and then use my home country passport to re enter my country. Hope not too confusing 😎
