Hello people!

What is the process of getting Thai Driving license (for DTV)? I already have driving license in my country and international driving permit (Car + Motorcycle). I want only motorcycle permit for Thailand.

Is any Letter of Residence needed from immigration? If it is, then what is the process?

And is it possible to get the Letter of Residence without any rent contract for accommodation, for example, If I am staying in hostels (not monthly contract), will this be fine?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Thai motorcycle driving license with an existing international driving permit, a certificate of residence from your local immigration office is typically required. The specific requirements may vary by office, and having registered accommodation via the TM30 online system may be necessary. The acceptance of a hostel stay for this purpose is subject to the discretion of immigration officials. It is advisable to check directly with your local office or consider using an agency for assistance.

Go to your local branch. They will give you a printout of requirements. It's not difficult at all.

to obtain a "certificate of residence" from Immigration, the minimum requirement is that you need to be registered in your accomodation by the TM30 online system registration. If a hostel stay counts as a valid reason, this is up to the decision of the Immigration official. So if they refuse, you still can try your luck with an agency. In Pattaya, it is relatively easy with a service from an agent to get your IDP converted to a Thai driving license, regardless where you stay

You get a certificate or residence from your local immigration office. What is required varies by office. You would need to go there and ask.
