Thanks Tod - I’ll make sure to check. I’m flying in from the UK with British Airways and I can make my ticket return inside 30 days. Actually I’ll be flown out in under 30 days by my employer (work offshore), but I’m buying my inward ticket myself and knew an outward would be required so I was just going to date it one year away - but it occurred to me that that may present problems with the 30 day visa exempt stamp. I’ll make sure the return section is under 30 days and I can extend it later....

I’m from the UK. In the past there was never any requirement to show any onward tickets or proof of funds or hotel bookings - the 30 day stamp was just issued - I just wanted check any new requirements .

yes, so i have found out - i'm assuming they know how to read the classes of vehicles a UK license permits you to use, based on the little table on the back of the UK license?

my UK license is plastic photo card type. weird thing - i just had to renew it in the UK and during the application they noted that my photo was over 10 years old, but were able to access my passport photo(which is quite recent) somehow via the goverment databases, so my new DL has my passport photo in it.
