I’ll be arriving next week and just want to get a 30 day on arrival visa. Will a print out of my e-ticket showing the departure date be required and if that departure date is beyond 30 days will this be a problem? Also do I need to show funds?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about requirements for obtaining a 30-day visa on arrival in Thailand, specifically whether a printout of their e-ticket showing a departure date is necessary, and if a departure date beyond the 30-day visa period would pose an issue. Commenters emphasize that verification with the airline is crucial due to varying requirements, and if traveling from countries like the UK, travelers traditionally faced fewer restrictions regarding onward tickets, although recent changes might apply.

I concur with

, I'd be much more concerned with the airline you are flying here on and the fact your proof of onward travel is after the 30 days you'll get showing up here without a visa. I'd check with them and make sure you can actually check in to board. Some have gotten quite hard core about it.

cheers. I’ll date my return is under 30 days. Would be gutted to get refused access to the flight at LHR!!

Thanks Tod - I’ll make sure to check. I’m flying in from the UK with British Airways and I can make my ticket return inside 30 days. Actually I’ll be flown out in under 30 days by my employer (work offshore), but I’m buying my inward ticket myself and knew an outward would be required so I was just going to date it one year away - but it occurred to me that that may present problems with the 30 day visa exempt stamp. I’ll make sure the return section is under 30 days and I can extend it later....

I’m from the UK. In the past there was never any requirement to show any onward tickets or proof of funds or hotel bookings - the 30 day stamp was just issued - I just wanted check any new requirements .

you should be fine, those requirements were always there, they just were never enforced :O Like I said without an extensive history of being here on visa exempt entries or tourist visas you will most likely NOT be questioned at all.

Also bare in mind if you're traveling long haul and your departure date is beyond 30 days you may have problems boarding your flight without a visa.
