have a buddy who didn’t listen, got married, now 2 and a half years later is finally at the stage where he is interviewed. My wife and I took only 6 months or so but that was 14 years ago.

If she mentions sponsors boyfriends husband who is citizen could all be reasons. Apply for marriage visa wait 2-3 years. Only way. Or go to Mexico, identify as Mexican and walk in. lol. Jk

Yes. IDP isn't always 'accepted' when you get stopped, and you have to pay the fine.

airport assistance? Do tell. I have LTR and travel frequently. Only perk at the airport is no immigration line at the LTR counter. Let me know if I’m missing something.

Why is my bank wire transfer from the USA to Thailand taking so long?

and up to 5 days. Rarely in seconds in my experience. Any more than $1000 and wise is not fast but definitely cheaper.
