ORIGINAL POSTER
I am on the yearly extension of stay based on “Thai wife.” Originally non o and this year was my third extension. I am kicking around the idea of finding a language school or university that teaches Thai as second language.

My question is am I fine to do this without changing extension status? (Or any status)

Thank you so much for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can study the Thai language while on your yearly extension of stay based on being married to a Thai national. There is no need to change your visa status or obtain an education visa for language study; you can continue under your current Non-O extension.

As

stated...you can study Thai language on your current extension Married to Thai.

No need to have an Ed Visa.

Its best you not lose your current status as Married to Thai for your annual extension of stay.

Its doubtful that you would get a Ed Visa for language study. So I suggest you not go down that path and be denied.

Good Luck...

Yes, you can go school on any valid stay, Just apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on marriage and find a school to learn,
