It sounded to me like you could just do a border run. Exit to another country nearby like Burma, cross the border, get a stamp and return. You do have to show a monthly income of 65,000 baht. I forgot to mention that.

Have you considered a DTV visa? Lasts for five years. You have to go in and out every six months. I got one in about 30 days. I used an agent though because I heard it is quicker that way. You do need to show $15,000 in the bank also.

I’m building a house in Chumphon which is the province just north of Surathani. I help fundraise and write grants for an orphanage there. Send me a pm if you want to visit and check out that area. There is room to build other houses on the land. Building my house cost about 20,000, maybe a little more since I decided on solar.
