Did you have to provide tax returns in order to get approved?

At the American embassy/consulates or for Americans at any consulate?

It’s such an easy visa to get why would you want to use an agent? You’ll need all the same documents anyways. Make an appointment in Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, or Malaysia, or wherever you want. Or leave Thailand for a couple weeks and apply for e visa from your home country.

Also you can maybe renew your passport now instead of waiting until later if you don’t want to deal with transferring the stamp over

Thanks. But wouldn’t leaving without a re entry permit then cancel whatever visa you currently hold? OP had a multiple re entry permit, currently I don’t have a re entry permit and to my understanding leaving Thailand should end my current visa.

wrong how? He said he had a valid ED with multiple re entry permit. This means education visa with multiple entry right? Obviously getting the DTV would cancel the Ed visa. But if the DTV wasn’t approved, wouldn’t the edu visa still be valid then?

Nice ! So your ed visa was still technically valid for you to come back in on right? I am currently on edu visa, was thinking to leave (thus ending the visa) and coming back with DTV but now considering to do a re-entry just in case 🤔

Probably won’t do it because I’m anticipating success with the DTV

About point #2, do you know if you must maintain a balance of 500k baht or it must currently be 500k baht at the time that you apply?

I don’t normally keep 500k baht in a single account, but my income would definitely be satisfactory so I’m wondering if 500k at time of applying along with the history of decent income is fine?
