Can anyone recommend a good agent to apply for Destination Thailand Visas on behalf of me and my partner and how much a service like that costs?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several comments suggest that applying for Destination Thailand Visas is straightforward and recommend doing it independently rather than through an agent. Legal concerns regarding agents were raised, emphasizing the necessity to apply outside of Thailand and warning against scammers. Some users suggested specific agencies like jkthai visa or Next De Travel, but the overall consensus leans towards self-application being easier and more reliable.

It’s such an easy visa to get why would you want to use an agent? You’ll need all the same documents anyways. Make an appointment in Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, or Malaysia, or wherever you want. Or leave Thailand for a couple weeks and apply for e visa from your home country.

which will bring about a crackdown on the fraudulently obtained DTV visa, Just like the recent Volunteer and Ed Visa fraud. The DTV visa is a great Thai Visa offering and opportunity for many.

Hopefully the unscrupulous Thai Visa Agents promoting fraud in obtaining it will be stopped before the DTV visa is changed.

It's easy to obtain without the fraud.

Agents won’t be able to help you in any legal way with this. The visa needs to be applied for outside of Thailand. The documents to be presented are very easy to gather. Anyone who offers you to apply online using fake certifications and fake bank statements will land you in legal jeopardy. As expected it took just a few weeks for these scam artists to appear and the Moderators of this group have already banned them.

You should ask your question in your own new thread, instead of hiding it inside another thread about something else.

You can not do like described.

Good luck complying with the whims of regular immigration officers. I can never understand why for little money people choose not to avoid them and rather put up with their BS...😅

never dealt with Immigration in Thailand except for one time doing a 90 Day Report during Covid. Not a bad experience. I always got my Multiple Entry annual visas at the Embassy in Berlin rather than spending a full day at the Chaengwattana hellhole for extensions.

applied it for me via the Greek Thai Consulate, received my DTV visa in 12 days 🙏

and what did they use for the documents? Were you actually entitled to apply there? It’s not a matter of actually getting it issued, anyone can do that. It’s about the way it went down.

In total I paid 350€ for the visa itself and 5000 bath (130€) to the consultant. All in all 480€.

and you got helpful assistance with your application. You had all the requirements for the DTV visa. The assistance was in the application submission. That's far from getting a Visa inside Thailand under the table.

thanks

Yes, I could have done it myself, but as I am busy with my work here, so I gave it to Stefans consultancy in Pattaya, and they took care of everything 😉 Can really highly recommend him and his team. Check them out, they are not scam, have tons of reviews and are really reliable. BTW, I am located in Malta and not applied for it in Thailand. It might matter where you are located. When you get your PDF, you go outside Thailand and then you want to get in again, they will see on the DTV that when you applied for it, you have been still in Thailand. Better safe than sorry I would say.

It's great you got the New 5 year DTV visa 👍

yes, I am self employed and provided them all the docs they need. You have to show that you have at least 13k € in your bank account, a proof that I am self employed/freelancer, passport copy, passport photo, estimated arrival in Thailand and place of stay (you don’t have to book in advance), and that’s basically it. For Mui Thai and cooking classes it will be difficult to apply, as they are barely any schools yet, who are accepted by the Thai government.

Nico Tean were you in Greece when you applied? Did they use the e-visa system? If not then you/they falsified information. At the beginning of the e-visa process they ask your location and advise if you can apply there. The declaration you sign at the end of the process confirms you verify your information is accurate and correct... which it wouldn't be if you state you are somewhere you aren't. Only certain embassies allow their citizens to use the e-visa system while out of country. You do you, but it's a risk of they question your location and ask for proof of entry and exit which has been reported being requested in other groups.

retirement visas can be applied for within the country and these agents (criminals) pay corrupt immigration officers. That isn’t possible for embassies, all the staff is employed by the MFA. Online applications specifically ask the location, applicants identity and other details a third party couldn’t supply. All of this requires lies and criminal intent which invalidates the visa from the get go.

@Anita *******
can you get the passport expedited? Otherwise wait until you get it and apply for the DTV as soon as you obtain it and are still in the U.S. so you can legally apply for the DTV without lying on the online application about your location. Do not take any cash to Asia, you can’t open a bank account here except maybe an offshore account in Singapore etc and such a sum would need to be declared to customs. You’d also run the risk of civil asset forfeiture while still on U.S. soil. Leave it in your U.S. account. Is your trip to Thailand THAT urgent that a few weeks matter?

I’m hoping you might be able to answer this question.

So I want to move to Thailand from the US. I’m still waiting to get my passport renewed.

So it seems that I can get on the plane with my passport and come straight to Thailand without any visa. Then when I get to Thailand, do I get a 60 day visa stamped in my passport or how does that work?

So then, if I bring the 800,000 Thai BAHT in USD equivalent, then I can exchange that at the airport?

Then I plan to go to a hotel and stay there while looking for a place to live. So when I have a local address, then I can open a bank account and deposit the 800,000? Then after that I can go to a Thai consulate and apply for the retirement visa?

If this sounds like a plan that will work then that would be good to know. If not then, please correct me. Thanks in advance.

people get retirement visas through agents who fake the 800,000 Thai baht in a bank account. It's been going on for years and no one gets in trouble. It's Thailand bro, if you are happy to pay you can get around just about anything
