Please don't change the current team. You guys have helped me a lot when I needed to understand the Thai government's Covid Visa extensions & DIY my marriage Visa.
You all have been very helpful with advice, curating questions and weeding out the noise that comes with such groups. I just wonder who has been finding fault and bitching about you guys. If they are not happy, they are the ones who should leave.
Chill man and see your passport again. Should have a stamp asking you come back on 1 Sept. If dun have then its new to me coz mine they always stamp "Under Consideration" in my passport. What immigration office is this?
its just a guide because it depends on manpower, how hardworking and the case load of the local immigration office is especially if they need to do a house visit.
Come in on a "tourist visa" and apply for extensions when u r in Thailand. I'm over 50 but here on Marriage Visa becoz it's cheaper to maintain the 400K in a Thai bank than 800K for a retirement Visa.
That said; if u using the 400K route. That money must be in a Thai bank account in your sole name (no joint a/cs) for 3 months and the balance cannot fall below 400K during the 3 months. So u gotta plan ahead and find a Thai bank willing to open an account for u.
Applying for a Marriage Visa in my province is easy, the list of documents required maybe long but nothing anyone with an average intelligence can easily do. No need for agents or tea money. Cost me ฿1900 only each year.
U can try using the TM47 app. It worked so far for me and they even send u a reminder 2 weeks b4 your next reporting is due. It takes about 3 working days to send u a confirmation. Just make sure their emails dun go into your junk folder.
This is why never leave things to the last minute. Hope u get your extension tomorrow coz I thought the Thai government announced there won't be anymore Covid visa extensions after 26 Nov?
I took a sample letter to my Kasikorn branch. Just showed it to the staff and within 15 minutes got the letter and a 6 month transaction printed out.
My immigration office accepts the said bank letter and transaction record dated 7 days (doesn't specify if working or calendar days) after it's printed to your appointment date. Eg. Appointment 30 Oct, then bank documents cannot be dated older than 23 Oct.
Also on the day before you go to the immigration office; you would need to make a small transaction i.e. withdraw Bht100 from the ATM and update your bank passbook to show the minimum Bht400K is still there when you submit your application.
