My covid visa expires today but didn't realise immigration would be shut today for father's day! If I go back tomorrow will they extend?

Answer summary

The original poster is concerned about their Covid visa expiring on a public holiday and whether they can still get an extension the following day. Community comments suggest that the visa will be fine since it expires on a public holiday, and they will likely receive a grace period for the extension. Advice includes being prepared with paperwork and money for the immigration visit.

You will be able to apply for an extension tomorrow and an overstay fine will be waved with mentioning it falls during the official holidays.

If they will give you an extension is between you and Immigration Officer you would deal with.
