As a US passport holder you receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp upon entering Thailand, this can be extended by a further 30 days at your local immigration office for 1,900 baht.

Yes, just apply yourself it is not too hard, just make sure you have all your ducks in a row, as they are denying quite a few visa applications, if your girlfriend owns her own property, has a secure job, a history of savings, and other valid reasons to return to Thailand she may be ok. You should also include a introduction letter, stating your salary, job, own your own property and are willing to support her during her stay. Also have a lot of evidence of your relationship, photos, emails etc, best to have too much paperwork than not enough. Also be aware that your application fee is non-refundable. If you are denied they will explain why in the decision letter. Good luck

Sorry but construction and building are on the list of prohibited occupations in Thailand.

As a British passport holder you will get what is called a visa exempt stamp upon arriving, not a visa on arrival. The visa exempt stamp can be extended one time only for 30 days at your local immigration office for 1,900 baht.

Yes, everyone should have a plan B and a plan C

The 400,000 baht must be in your bank account 2 months before you apply for your extension. There is no limit to the number of yearly extensions you can apply for, as long as you meet the requirements for the extension each time you apply.

you are getting confused with overstay V 90 day reports, overstay is 500 baht per day up to a maximum of 20,000 baht where failure to lodge a TM 47(90 day report) is 2,000 baht flat fee whether you are 8 days late or 8 months late, they have nothing to do with each other.

He can definitely ask, but unfortunately he will only be given a 30 day visa exempt stamp upon arriving, which he can extend for another 30 days at the local immigration office where he will be staying for 1,900 baht.

You will get a 2,000 baht fine. You can do your 90 day report 15 days before the due date and up to 7 days after the due date, so you have had basically 3 weeks to do it.

You are correct, but it entirely is up to the immigration officer you are standing in front off. Too many entries they will deny you.
