Has anyone applied through 'Thai Soft Power Activities,' such as Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking courses, Thai language courses, etc.?

I would like to know if there is a minimum length for the courses, minimum academic performance requirements, etc.

Thank you!

Hello to everyone. Does someone have any experiences or knowledge about the DTV (destination Thailand Visa) relating to the version of this visa which includes Thai Soft Power Activities ? Is learning Thai language in this category?

Thank you for your help and support. 🙏😊🙏

Maybe a good idea to hold your horses on the DTV a little longer!

The underlying basics of the DTV have been officially established: “It’s a multiple entry visa. On each entry you get a stamp for 180 days. Leave and come back and you get another 180 days.” That is a game changer and almost sounds too good and open to be true. Links to detailed group posts on this linked below. Easy enough.

But there are some details we do not know, yet. These missing details relate to how different consulates will handle details not clearly regulated in the published law. Things like: What documents and uploads will count as sufficient proof to meet the requirements for obtaining the DTV in the first place. A few, exemplary open questions:

* What kind of financial proof documents?

* How many bank statements / dating how many months back?

* What would a sponsorship of financial funds look like and what would need to be submitted in that case?

* What kind of documents to be handed in to qualify for the remote worker category?

* What kind of documents to be handed in to qualify for a “Thai Soft Power” category?

* What activities qualify exactly as Thai Soft Power?

* Is there a certain minimum length of booked and confirmed Thai Soft Power activities we would need to proof?

Open questions like these and more will all be for the respective Thai consulate in your individual jurisdiction to be decided and communicated. And from how I know Thailand over the years, different consulates will have quite different detailed requirements for this. So, these questions cannot be answered in general. You need to either check with the particular Thai consulate responsible for you (their website or contact them), or wait for group reports on people having gone through these exact consulates on the same DTV track you are looking at. But these open questions will be answered and can be matched, then, in due time.

!!!!!!

But, and maybe a big BUT: There is a third area with big question marks, still. Maybe an area many people have not even thought about. And that pertains to the questions of what proof might need to be required once holding the DTV and now planning to either re-enter on it or to extend it locally with immigration. We simply don’t know what the exact requirements will be at that stage. Might be that simply showing your visa is fine to getting it extended or being stamped back in. But it might also be, that immigration officers either at extension at local immigration or when trying to cross back into Thailand will ask for proof that the original conditions are still met. Remember, the DTV is bound to the underlying conditions that you either have remote work or that you participate in a recreational Thai Soft Power activity AND that you can demonstrate sufficient funds of at least 500k THB. One could argue, that these conditions do not only pertain to the single time when you apply for the DTV visa, but would need to be met for the duration and every new entry.

Now this could well mean, that at extension or re-entering with the DTV, that you would have to demonstrate that you are still meeting those requirements at that time. In other words, you could face a situation where you would have to prove again that you are still holding the funds (500k THB) in your name, that you are still having remote work, or (and that would potentially “suck” the most for some) that you are still enrolled (or again) in a Thai Soft Power course. Don’t take for granted that doing a day’s cooking class will “guarantee” you 5-year of easy entries. Maybe here lies one of the catches. Thoughts?

Hello,

Regarding the DTV visa, do you need to show months of bank statements or just simply a screenshot of the overview of the account showing the 500k? Also, has anybody enrolled in any of the Thai soft power activities and how? Thanks
