I aj Canadian ,been coming for many years.

You do not need a visa now at all .

You do need a ongoing ticket in less than 60days,not return just out of country .

Many will tell you that you don't and it's very possible you will not be asked .

But if you are and don't have it you will not be allowed to board .

Buy ,and use a ticket to amazing Angkor wat in Cambodia one way and re enter for another 60 days

Never overstay !!!

Never get the red stamp..

Just go do the extension .

Absolutely the worst border in my 25 years in Thailand .

Avoid it .

I would drive 500 km out of my way to do so.

it's not the fine !

It's being stopped for any reason and going to immigration prison .

And having a overstay stamp in your passport screams to every immigration officer in the future,in any country,that you are a rule breaker .

Take the dog to a dog daycare.

Do the visa run ,you can not extend for 60 days only 30,after you have to do a run outside and back anyway .

Better yet doba visa run and then come to koh kood
