Hello! We are looking to come to Thailand for 3-6 months in the new year. We are from Canada and we’re wondering if we will have trouble getting our visas?

And how long before we go do we apply for them? We’re not to sure if we should book tickets first or after applying for the visa

My husband is self employed and I will be quitting my job to travel next year.

Any info is much appreciated!❤️

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian couple plans to visit Thailand for 3-6 months and seeks information about visa options and the application timeline. They discuss whether to book flights before applying for a visa, the necessity of onward tickets, and the possibility of entering Thailand on a visa exemption. Many commenters suggest the 60-day visa exemption, requiring an onward ticket, and recommend checking the Thai Embassy website for official visa information.

First you go to the Thai Embassy website of your location, visit the visa section and see your options.

Then you can decide how long to stay, based on those requirements.

I aj Canadian ,been coming for many years.

You do not need a visa now at all .

You do need a ongoing ticket in less than 60days,not return just out of country .

Many will tell you that you don't and it's very possible you will not be asked .

But if you are and don't have it you will not be allowed to board .

Buy ,and use a ticket to amazing Angkor wat in Cambodia one way and re enter for another 60 days

If you plan to enter on 60 days visa exemption be aware of that an onward ticket out within 60 days is required for each entry even though you plan to apply for an extension at your local immigration.

that's a 5 year visa to come as a digital nomad worker or on medical grounds, go to boxing or cookery classes, not for a holiday

You don't need anything special. Come over you get 60 days on arrival. Extended at immigration for 1,900bt. Take a weekend holiday at a neighboring country then return and start over
