It sounds nitpicking
@Bennett *******
but with a border run, you buy a visa in the country you run to but with a border hop or border bounce, you stamp out of Thailand, go in the other country and many times you can turn around and stamp in in Thailand again with e.g. visa exempt 30 days (from 1st of oct. 45 days). By land only 2 times allowed. Good luck ! 🤞

And specially beCAUSE it's a bit confusing, you have to prepare carefully. Invitation letter with explaination of your situation and reasons she has to go back. Some kind of guarantee letter of your income and you give her a place to stay and financially support her. Phone number that the Embassy can reach you 24h. Photo's of you both. How older the better. Etc etc. I even then got the tip that she dresses properly going to the Embassy. I know many people here who got refused a Schengen visa and surely not only Polish Embassy. Many refusals happen that people are too quick without 110% preparation. And yes, as said here; main reason is proving she goes back.

Don't know the rule in this case
@Michelle ***********
. As you can read his STV is void and now he is on Covid extension. Really don't know in this case. But OP wants to do a border hop, so at return (after 1st oct.) he gets 45 days visa exempt entry anyway. Also maybe even not needed as
@Steve ******
says.

:

Concerning the 800k฿ for year extension, SHOULD you go for the individual non imm. O, you both have to have 800k฿ in individual bank accounts. So two separate. When having a joint account it must be double, so 1,6 million. But....if you have an income of more than 65k฿ a month each, you still can get an affidavit (income statement) from your embassy. Also a combination method is possible. So money bank account plus 'year income' together, must be over 800k฿ each. And take care the money must be in the account 2 months before your year extension request.

I know
@Gary *****
. Made it also myself sometimes when I still lived in the Netherlands. For that one time I use it over here, e.g. coffee or apple pie, the can is easy. But
@Terry *******
is right ofcourse. Same with the prefab stuff in the Netherlands. Think maybe use it once a month or so. So hope the body takes care 🤷‍♂️😉

@Terry *******
. Tesco/Lotus. Of course not fresh made but okay. Just try ?

And maybe a multi entry tourist visa in y'r own country is an option ? Then you not have to go to immigration for any extension. Just a thought.

Ad 2:
@John *********
, you always can do a border hop/bounce to Cambodia, Laos or so, and come back for a exempt entry of 30 days (From 1st october probably 45 days), and extend it again with 30 days. You can do this only 2 times by land border. Or go for a visa run, which is buy a visa again in a Thai Embassy or consulate in the mentioned countries. But a bit more stress these border hops/bounces/runs. Also depends how far you are from a border. Otherwise you have to fly in 🤷‍♂️

Good luck !!

When you come with a 'visa for 90 days' (e.g. Non imm. O based on retirement or marriage), you don't need an onward ticket so one way is okay. It's many time a problem with the airliner as
@Stu***
says, when you have no visa (visa exempt 30 days) or a Tourist visa (60 days).
