I think you are mistaken. When they scan your passport, they have all the details they need including visa application, how many entries, where you have been staying (TM30) right in front of them. And soon with the new system coming for entry registration this will be even easier for an immigration officer.

ok, you keep thinking that. Until we get to the extensions and the year we don’t know.

But the one thing you must remember is that a visa is issued for a purpose, and that purpose once no longer required means that if you don’t meet the conditions of the visa they can refuse.

I’m just saying that it’s a possibility on the soft applications. So don’t be surprised if it happens.

something doesn’t sound right because if you OWN property then you can open an account anyway.

Also consider that in the future you may need to prove the reason for re-entry meets the requirement of the visa. We don’t know how that will work yet. But for those on medical or Muay Thai you may need to prove again.

Bear that in mind.

no, legislation was passed I believe to do with money laundering, that included the opening of new accounts and how they are opened and by whom. So tourists became a problem.

This year alone in the 1st 6 months they shut down around 400,000 suspect accounts for various resosns.

yeah was easy a year ago. Since June this year rules are being followed. So definitely not easy now.

then they are lucky. Because Tourist Visa, DTV etc are notoriously difficult to use for bank account since June this year.

With agent still possible, but that’s not really a good way to open an account and head office could close it.
