TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks advice on visa options in Thailand, as their PACS union is not recognized by Thai authorities. Several commenters advise that the individual will need to apply for a DTV visa independently, as partner visas based on civil unions are not accepted. Alternatives mentioned include getting married or applying for a guardian visa if their child holds an ED visa. There are also specific comments about the challenges faced by same-sex couples in the visa process.

On your own unfortunately. But child will be ok as a dependent.

If your child is attending school here in Thailand and has an ED visa you can apply for a guardian visa. That’s how my partner is staying in country while I’m on a DTV.

It also sounds like your partner might be of the same-sex (according to your Oct. post, you said your wife). That might also be a problem as well, even if you got married in France. It won’t be until early next year that Thailand recognizes same-sex marriages

You can get married. Or apply on your own. Civil unions are not recognized in Thailand

either get married or adopted

I will answer again... My reply was deleted for some reason unknown.

Thailand does not recognize your relationship with your partner. You have to get a DTV Visa on your own merits.

You would need to apply for your own DTV, you can't be a dependent on your partners visa

Apply for DTV on your own. Child comes as dependent on your or your partners DTV.
