I use that method in Chiang Mai, and as far as I know, they really don't care where or how it comes from, so long as it has FTT (Foreign Transfer) on the bank statement.

opening a bank account with a visa exempt (or tourist visa) is, at best, extremely difficult these days. The non o would be best for that

It can be more than one transfer, just make sure you have the magic EFT on your transfers. A pain in the what if you don't.

Bangkok Bank is the clearing house for overseas transfers, other banks in Thailand will probably show the transfer as an domestic transfer, from Bangkok Bank.

that is my understanding. I have heard of people using them for years. My savings are earning good interest at home, certainly discourages me from leaving it in a Thai bank. I have been, and plan on, using the

bht month, but if that fails it will be a quick trip home for an A O visa.
