I actually did give that consideration, simply leave without a re entry permit and come back on 60 day exempt. And hope the bank doesn't cancel my account while I'm on a tourist visa 55. Na, too hard.

yes I agree. But I've been caught once, I'll continue to bring the 65 k every month, AND have the 800k sitting there, and we will see what happens NEXT year

@Chelsea *******
yes, my bad, I should have had it there in July. But it would have made no difference, they want it in for 12 months.

@Lloyd *******
yes, I've maintained the monthly payments as a back up, in case something went pear shaped. It did 55

But I dont understand why it needs to be in 12 months in advance. Why not, 2 months seasoning?

I recently got a new Australian passport, and in the fine print that came with it, advises me the old passport becomes invalid 30 days after the issue date of the new passport

it seems the requirement of showing the money is from overseas varies from office to office. Not required in Chiang Mai. You would have to check Buriram.

I am in the process of doing this, do I have to have the 800k in the bank for 12 months prior to changing? Or just seasoned for 2 months? In Chiang Mai. Mine will be in a separate account and won't be touched

Thanks Tod, my passport expires in July 2026, my extension is until Sept 2025. I'll apply for a new passport tomorrow, it should just get here on time.
