My husband is currently back home in the UK. He’s applying for and will receive a new passport.
He’s on a non-O “Thai wife” visa.
Can someone help to guide what the steps might be upon entering Thailand with said new passport - any additional forms to fill at immigration or prior to arrival in Thailand?
Advise about transferring his visa over once in Thailand would also be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon entering Thailand with a new passport while holding a Non-O visa, your husband should bring both his old and new passports. He will present the valid Non-O visa or extension with a re-entry permit from the old passport at immigration. It's crucial that the entry stamp matches the re-entry permit's date. Once in Thailand, he needs to visit the immigration office that issued his extension to transfer stamps from the old passport to the new one, using a specific form called "TRANSFER STAMP TO NEW PASSPORT FORM". Additionally, he may need to provide an updated TM30 form and should ensure that his bank and local Department of Land Transport are informed of the new passport number.
