Hello,

Could anybody tell me how long can you stay in Thailand per year using a visa on arrival just coming and going every 60 days?

I heard it’s 6 months per calendar year and was hoping someone knows the answer.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question addresses the duration one can stay in Thailand using Visa Exempt stamps, specifically inquiring about rotating stays every 60 days. Community responses clarify that while there is theoretically no limit on the number of entries, entry is ultimately at the discretion of Immigration officers. Frequent entries can lead to suspicions of long-term residence rather than tourism, resulting in denial of entry. Users suggest obtaining an appropriate long-term visa to avoid complications.

I have been using visa exempt and then trips to Laos or Cambodia for several years..used to get visas by post or at immo in London but stopped when online cos this old technophobe hates online bureacracy !!!

If you mean on a 60 day rotation, like 60 days in and 60 days our, please clue me in to the visa you can work that on.

You cannot live in Thailand on tourist entry stamps. Immigration officers are not stupid. They see a pattern in your behaviour, you will be denied entry and a possible black mark on your immigration record

Just get a proper visa for your requirements....avoid hassles/problems at immigration every time you enter/leave the Kingdom

1. It is not a Visa on Arrival, rather it is a "Visa Exempt stamp.' 2. If you get the 60 day visa exempt stamp and extend by a further 30 days at the Immigration office, Immigration class you as a tourist. If you then attempt to enter again on a visa exempt stamp, Immigration rightly consider that after on 90 day stay in the country that you are no longer a tourist but that you are attempting to live long term in the country. While there is no legal limit to the number of Visa exempt entries, once the Immigration officer believes that you are no longer visiting the country as a tourist he will deny you entry. 3. If you have already stayed for 90 days on a visa exempt entry, then in future to guarentee entry into Thailand, you need to obtain a long term visa suitable to the reason for your stay.

what if one’s passport is full of nonB stamps from working as a teacher and you are looking for a job, but hit the 60 day window?

If you read the MANY posts about your question...you would find out that there's NO limit on entry into Thailand as Visa Exempt Entry each year.

However your entry is at the discretion of the Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival.

And it's apparent that Thai Immigration Officers are More strict now than before in questioning those who are seeking to enter Thailand many times. With DENIED entry.

Suggest you get the correct Thai Visa for your planned visits and stays in Thailand.
