When it comes to canceling my WP and Non B extension do I need to prepare any documents in addition to the termination letter I will receive from my employer? Is there a TM form to complete or any fees to pay?
On a side note, when I go to the labour office and cancel my WP, will the cancelled work permit be given back to me after the cancelation or do they keep it? The reason I ask is that after I finish my work contract my employer has requested I return my WP to the admin department at my work as they want it in order to process some other internal admin related to foreign employees leaving.
So on the last day of my contract I can cancel my WP, then cancel my current extension, and then apply for my new extension all on the same day. Can I apply for a 1 year Non O extension without having obtained a 3 month non O visa from an embassy?
Thanks for your advice. A postal submission sounds like the best option. To clarify: my postal submission needs to arrive at immigration 14 days before my 90 day due date?
Are we sure that it is now possible to book an appointment at CW for the purpose of covid extension? I just attempted to do this via the website, but there is no option to select anything covid related as a reason on the reservation website. I know these extensions take place at section N, but the website only lists studying, teaching, instructing etc as a reason to book the online appointment for section N.
I was in a similar situation to you last year. My PE visa was expired and I was making use of a final entry stamp to carry me through to 6 years of stay. This stamp was due to expire early January this year. Iβm currently a full time student at university in Bangkok, so asked the university to supply me with the required documents to support my application to request an ED visa in country. I received these documents at the end of November last year and booked my appointment at section C at CW. The ladies that work in that section told me that itβs not possible to move from a PE entry stamp to any other visa in country. They said my only option to get the ED visa was by applying at a consulate outside Thailand. They suggested I get the covid extension instead and sent me to section N. I received a covid under consideration stamp for the same date as my PE entry stamp was due to expire (5 weeks after I applied for the covid extension). When I returned to CW 5 weeks later to close the loop, they issued me with a 60 day extension starting from that day. I was pleased that the 60 days started from the approval date rather than the application date. I plan to return to CW later this month to apply for another covid extension.
