not really , they just won’t be able to renew their visa, agents will be lining their pockets i guess, so another form of tax in agents fees 🙂

Or they require a tax clearance certificate when renewing a long term visa, having lived in many different countries, tax is one area I have learned not to take liberties , that said folk without families or ties here will likely just ignore it and get bar advice, and when the poo hits the fan simply fly off into the sunset, everyone to there own I guess.

Just before your visa expires , it will seem odd to immigration that you “plan” overstay 🤔

There are a number of sites on line that will give you a ‘dummy’ ticket that will serve your purpose, $12 I think , can’t recall the one I used but very efficient and user friendly can dig it out if you need, pm me

Of course , in my opinion and experience feeding the trough perpetuates the corruption surrounding Immig, and DLT to the point in Phuket it’s 3 months to get an appt now for a license unless you pay…..these people are greedy and exploit the willingness of farangs to pay to cut corners …..I saw this in Africa over many years and it’s a serious issue comes down to personal choice but I won’t recommend agents for reasons I mention 👍

actually spent 20 seconds and got three different answers , consensus was that if license was in English then an IDP was not required, however some municipalities might require it……most tourist areas have police with some command of English so not an issue…..however, hire companies do not demand an IDP
