They have this option since sometimes if you look for grab car/taxi alone, it can take forever without finding any. So they have just grab to make it quick and guarantee your chance to find one that its distance is NEAREST to you. Answer is there isn't any difference in which grab gets you, they give you a price that is almost like grab car, which is more than what you would pay with grab taxi.

yes and no, street taxi works for grab but not everyone, they have to register + turn on the app.

they can work for grab and have that in printed their car but can also turn off their app to become a normal taxi in their free time.

In Bangkok you can just wave 👋 any taxi meter... But there is a down side in waving a random taxi is that you have to show them your destination. Drivers in Thailand can't read map 🗺️, so grab does save you the time to explain it to them.

Just grab is not cheaper. It's an option to find either taxi or car, which ever is available (if you happen to read it)... It's more about quick but not price efficient.

I have always thought about it that way, but turns out most of the time going with a random taxi meter is a lot cheaper. whether you go with grab taxi or grab car, it's a lot more (grab car tends to charge more than grab taxi)

the letter was about "due to covid this person can't leave the country etc." Which is bullsh*t because the website made it clear that no letter needed. Btw today is the last day that they do this extension until further notice. We were very close

i finally had to come back yesterday to get my letter the next day which they charged me 720 baht for it. Then hour and hour of waiting at the immigration from morning until 4pm.

They stamped my visa for 2 months even tho i only asked for 1. The whole waiting line is just a mess..

But it's done now. Thank you all so much.

the employees were so irresponsible and inattentive. The guy who told me to get the letter just said that and left to do his stuffs, don't even bother to explain what more do i need or write down on a piece of paper what kind of letter he asked for.

it's just so frustrating with this process.. they don't bother to explain anything and just ask me to go back in town to get a letter from Vietnam embassy, which never occured to me that I need it. I went to the official website of Thailand Embassy and they only list what you wrote here for me.

And then you have to fill out three forms once you get there. Wasted 2 hours waiting and the time to get there, it's 24km from town ! 😠 No wonder the location got so much negative reviews

i figured out it was exemption visa because one guy pointed that out to me. and i suppose for now what i should do is go to immigration and get it extended for 1900 baht

so it was a visa exemption in my situation
