I'm curious as to some of these will play out. I mean, one appointment and you got a 5 year visa? Will they require another to re-enter after you leave? Will they ask for ongoing medical care in the future? Remember, folks, any visa can be revoked. I hope it never happens to anyone, however I just can't see immigration being so lax on these.

I wouldn't cut it that close, but yes. You also have to check to see if there is a dual tax agreement with your home country if you pay taxes there.

the same amount as if you stayed 180 days in any year on a tourist visa. It isn't the visa type that triggers taxes, it's the 180 days.

save up the money. Honestly, if you don't have at least 500,000 baht as backup money you probably shouldn't consider moving overseas to begin with.
