You won't need 800k in a thai bank yet . If your getting it in London , take bank statements showing your balance etc ... infact if you time it right you can get nearly 2 years without the 800k

yes if you leave the country for any reason .. nothing to do with your visa extension .

Then on your return , your 90 days start again

You are correct .. actually to prove that I went for my 90 days a week ago , and the guy next to me who had been away like you was told , you never needed to come in because your 90 day starts again from your arrival , point proved 😉

Sorry Colin , you've lost me , are you saying you have arrived in Thailand with a ' retirement ' long stay ' visa ' .. no immigration are asking you to show them 20,000 bht in thai cash ??

Normal 30 day 'free visa ' and you must show them 20,000 bht ? ..

No , You have a multi , you can come and go as many times as you want ,up til Nov , when you will need an extension .. ( still have to do your 90 day reporting , though that starts again on your return each time )
