Question for Ron Angel

What do you mean by doing a TM30 before your ‘ extension ‘ ? ... my 90 days is due next week , and I haven’t been anywhere this past year .. only within Chonburi ..

and my yearly extension based on retirement is due in October. .. so why do I need to do a TM30 at all ? ( yet )

I’m going back to uk in November for 2 weeks. .. that’s when I thought I had to do my first one on my return then ?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of completing a TM30 before their yearly visa extension, explaining that they have not traveled outside of Chonburi for a year and their 90-day reporting is due soon. Other comments clarify the requirement of a TM30 receipt for the extension process, despite the user's lack of traveling, and suggest visiting the local Immigration Office for personal assistance.

I did not reply as the question is asked to Ron. But as we all know the enforcement is different in every Immigration Office, so before Martin Howarth has absolutely no idea what to do anymore, please just visit your Immigration Office in Chonburi, explain your plans and they will help you. Good luck.

It is different in every office, but you stated clearly you visit Chonburi and the first advice is from how things go in Bangkok. And that is why we always advice, visit the office and ask, we can not keep up with the changes in enforcement from over 70 offices.

thanks Robert I’m going down there tomorrow morning , but what I never mentioned was I had a neighbor who did he’s 90 day report on Monday , and all the officer said to him was , you can do your extension a month early you know , no mention of a TM30 . 🙄

They'll want a TM30 reciept at extension time otherwise you'll be denied. Go do it before your extension

Completely baffled , ok , so I can do that tomorrow? .. and I guess it’s just to say , this is where I am . And I get a receipt which I will need when I go to get my extension or I won’t get that extension even though I have the 800k etc ( 4th year ) ..?

Thanks for reply Marty , still a bit confused.. so I need to complete a TM30 .. BEFORE .. I apply for my yearly extension even though I haven’t been anywhere ?

I filed my 90-day at CW a couple of weeks ago. No TM30 required if I remain at the same address. You will need a TM30 to get a 1 year extension. I am doing something similar this month. I will go and return from the US and get a new TM30 upon my return. I have one unreported trip to Pattaya so I expect I may be fined for that when I go for my 1 year extension in October.
