You won't return the same day with a tourist visa from Vientiane. It's at least an overnight stay, possibly 2.

 You wont get a 1 year visa in Thailand, only a 90 days Non Imm O and then apply for the 1 year extention of stay.

 For the initial visa the 800k doesnt need to be in the account for 2 months, that's just needed for the 1 year extention of stay.

 Incorrect. An O can be obtained in your own Country or Thailand. An OA can only be obtained in your home Country.

Nick MuayPlam I beg to differ. Only super rich is sometimes better. Banks are always better than booths, booths are less rate and take more commission.
