TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience of doing a border run from Chong Sangam to Cambodia for a Non-Immigrant O multi-entry visa. They mentioned the cost of the Cambodian visa being THB 1,200 and a leaving fee of THB 300. The immigration process was smooth, with no requests for additional documents upon re-entering Thailand, and the entire process took about 25 minutes.

Thanks for the update, THB 1,200 is cheap, should be THB 1,500.-, the exit fee on Cambodia side is annoying.....

~25mil visitors a year = ~18billion baht. Nice business...they couldnt scrap that 😮

@Mic****
. As per my origional post, Im sure it's down to the airlines and their deals with the airport authories. I flew to vientiane from dmk with air asia for 990bt, id guess that 700bt of that didnt go towards my 'leaving fee'

AOT page, big file!

Worked a minute ago, now it errors 🤔 Anyway, here's one from KLM from the time the change was introduced:

@Mic****
. Your links dont work. I would be interested to see the information

A lot of airlines lump all of these things together under a generic "Fees" entry (my next booking does for example). Some as shown above do a more precise breakdown.

I stand corrected, it may well be included in your ticket cost when you leave Thailand, however it's never been listed or specified on any flight that I've purchased.

@Steve ******
It's on the website of AOT (Airports Of Thailand) in case you want a more reliable source:

"Passenger service charges shall be collected from the departing passengers two years of age and over."

***********************************************************************

See "Passenger Service Charges" at the bottom. Generally airlines list it separately as part of the fees (either airport fees, or passenger service charge as in the screenshot above).

Correct, ANA charges 705 baht (exchangerate difference)

Jon. Additional to what? Airport tax didnt increase nor did air fares when Thailand stopped charging a leaving fee. Of course the airlines may have swallowed the charge what with it being such a competative business. The fee wasnt added on to your ticket price.
Jon **********
So you go for the even less plausible option; its now free....🤔🙄

Airlines pay tax to the gov already. This is an additional tax. Whats so inconceivable?

Do your own google research if this concerns you so much. Im out.

@J**
. Yeah I got it now the airline pays the money to the Thai government, because Bangkok.com says so. Just like they always have. FFS. Wake up!
Jon **********
I need to write it a third time?!
Erik ************
Come to think of it, I did pay the 500 baht a few times at check-in counter....
Erik ************
Yep, that is what several airlines told me as well, now in ticketfare. Maybe its in the landingrights or something.
Steve *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
Please enlighten me how that works when you pay the airline/agent for the ticket. Do you really think Thai Immigration charges the airlines per person leaving the country?
Jon **********
the departure fee at bkk is now included in your ticket price. Phnom Penh airport also

@J**
. The cost of airline tickets has nothing to do with immigration fees.

@J**
TBF, I guess that depends on the airline. Flights are cheaper now than they were 10 years ago.

@Steve ******
its still paid, but hidden in your flight ticket now

There's always been a fee when leaving Cambodia. Just like there used to be a fee when leaving Thailand. I think the Thais' scrapped it when Suvanaphoom opened.

What's a leaving fee?

@Rob***
. Ive stayed for a few days but still payed 300bt to leave. Maybe I should get a bicycle.
Robert ************
I've done 4 trips to Cambodia to get the extra 90 days, I enter at the one you did, and exit a Chong Chom the next day, and I've never had to pay anything to leave. On all my trips I've ridden my bicycle which seems to give me a special status with Immigration Officers.

They also charge it at the Chong Chom border crossing

They charge it when you leave the country. Even if you stay for a few days/weeks. Maybe it's only at land borders. Personally I've never flown out of Cambodia so I dont know if it's charged at an airport.
Robert ************
So they only charge that when you just turn right around, I understand now. Thanks.

300bt to leave Cambodia, payable at Immigration when you leave the country. Same as the old 500bt ' leaving fee' when you left Thailand.
