If it's a visa and extention based on retirement and you are using your own 800k Thai Baht then you shouldn't have any problems using an agent

Check your local Embassy for requirements, you dont need to pay for each entry, only for extentions of stay to each entry.

Lucky your Immigration Office gives both the 30 + 60 extention on each entry. Many only give the 60 days if you have Thai dependant relatives

Like I said pretty much impossible to open a bank account on a tourist visa or visa exemption WITHOUT using an agent.
