 Apply for the non imm O visa in the UK using funds in your UK bank account. This visa makes opening a Thai bank account a much easier process

How does the DTV visa transfer work with an expiring passport?

If it's an evisa then it won't be in your passport. Visa stickers cant be transferred. In both cases you should keep your old passport for the validity of the visa.
