You need to make an appointment. At least in Vientiane there's no walk-in anymore.

No walk-ins will be accepted. They are open 9.00 to 12.00 and 13.00 to 16.30.

The visa processing time is 2 working days (with complete required documentation) Drop off in the morning, pick up next aftermoon.

1 day overstay is no issue. From second day you pay 500,- THB fine for each day. Check for next flight first.
