I need an offer for a Taxi ride from Pattaya to Ban Laem Border checkpoint (242km) on Saturday morning. 2 pax, small luggage. Usually here are lots of drivers online. Offers are welcome, as long below Bolt/ Grab rate.

nope, not at all, but it may happen on Saturday morning, no driver accepts your ride. That happened once when I asked for a ride to Sattahip. I prefer to be on the safe side beforehand.

do you walk into market and says to fruit/vegetables vendors and tell them “I’ll pay you 10 baht per kilo of XY” or you ask them how much is it.

Do you contact construction workers and tell them make me this and that pool for 50k baht or you tell them what you want and they quote you price.

since OP doesn’t know expenses of service providers he can only drop random number that would either be underpayment and driver will quote him correct higher amount or he’ll overpay if he offer too much as none driver would tell him that’s too much. I’ll take less.

So what’s point of him offering XY money instead drivers quoting him whatever amount they found enough
