I used a real and non refundable ticket for my application. Mind that if the date is too close and it isn't refundable, you could lose the money. I applied around two months before my intended entry date.

Participante anónimo you can be a retiree (or not), it doesn't matter but they'll most likely would ask you later proof of either remote job, soft power courses or medical treatment.

You're a bit lost. All Thai visas are electronic(e)-visas now, as the visa itself is a PDF file.

As for what kind of visa you need, that's totally up to you. It doesn't matter whether it's your first time.

For the DTV, you need to go trhu one of the three allowed routes: remote worker, soft power courses or medical treatment. If you didn't, then it might be rejected.

No, they have all the right to check whether the money is legitimate or not.

a soft power DTV don't stop you to work remotely, of course. But what if you finish your 6-months course and want to stay the remaining 5 year working remotely without attending any extra course?

For me, specifically, a bank account would be less useful than TrueMoney, because I DON'T earn money in Thailand, so to top up the bank account, I'd still need cash 🤷🏻

With TrueMoney I can pay with my card.

Participante anónimo 468 I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything. The OP was asking on how to send money easily to Thai accounts without having one, so that's why I mentioned TrueMoney. And although for sending money you do need to top up with cash, for making purchases you don't need to. I just linked with home country card with it, and it works well.

Not like Wise or Revolut. It's a local Thai fintech app that allows to make both online payments and QR codes. It has more functions, such as loans, but those are only for Thai nationals. With the app, you can pay at any Thai QR place, or send money to any Thai Bank account. You can also receive money from any other user as well.
