 not if you pay income tax in another country. You probably pay the difference if the Thai tax rate is higher.

If you go by the tax tables, I pay 3% more in Thailand. 22% vs 25%.

 wrong, my tax bracket is 25% in Thailand. I pay about 20% in the USA. I would have to pay an extra 5% to Thailand. This is with no deductions.

I think Mexico is the #1 destination for USA retirees. Close to the USA to get medical services. Mexico has a lower cost of living compared to the USA.
