how many visa options do you need for a holiday? There are visa free entries and several tourist visas plus a few longer term visas. Pretty good and better than many other countries.

Think of the o-visa being like a ticket to enter. You have 90 days to use it to enter Thailand. It's been used once you enter. Then you are stamped in for your actual permitted stay.

It's the same for those already on list for 60 days without visa. The "change" is not really a change but a tightening up of current entry rules. Too many people have used back to back entries with extensions so they can live in Thailand without visas. Unfortunately it has 'caught up' those who can do a 6 month vacation to escape their winters using no visa "visa exempt".

people can still get extensions to a 60 day stay. What's tightening up is people being stopped from back to back visa fee entries and extensions.

Non-O Retirement visa. Obtain this before arriving. Extend for 12 months ( repeat extension each year)

they want tourists on holiday, not people trying to stay long term without visas.

not sure why you find coming to Thailand for a holiday "complex". Visa free entry for most people.

it's friendlier and easy to visit especially with no visa.

Are you asking about the visa or the exempt entry with no visa?

Perhaps if you sell the condo the money can be paid to a different bank account you have?
