This year, after my education visa expired, I applied for the DTV twice.
The first time was through an agency under the “sports” category (in Malaysia) , and the second time was also through an agency, using proof of funds in my bank account (in vietnam). Both applications were rejected.
Why do you think this could have happened?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faced two rejections while applying for a DTV visa after their education visa expired, one through an agency for the 'sports' category and the other providing proof of funds. Various commenters speculated on potential reasons for the rejections, suggesting issues such as inadequate documentation, possible red flags in the user's profile, or the necessity for government approval of the training facility. There were also inquiries about the status of the user’s previous education visa and whether proper procedures were followed in the applications.
Did you and your school cancel your ED extension?did you take the paperwork from the school to immigration? If not it could still be active and there not issuing a new visa if anything is active
You haven't given enough information to really help other than to guess? If you applied for a soft power DTV then the key is making sure the facility you are using for example if using muay thai then the gym needs to be accredited and the course to last 6 months. The rest of the paperwork is straight forward.
if you didn’t even look at the paperwork the agent prepared then you are not ready for DTV. You need to know what the basis is for your application - is it workation, is it soft power? The information you give is so little that I don’t think anyone can really help
arh not a good idea, you should have seen what the agent was submitting for you so you know it was all ok. That will be your problem the paperwork will be incorrect
Not good enough paperwork or not eligible. Maybe a red flag in your profile. Can be hard to say without all the facts but beeing rejected with softpower muay thai and a agent is not very usual i think. What did agent say?? Same agent both times?? I kinda almost want to see that paperwork
Maybe you have history of staying in Thailand they dont like but normally they dont communicate with immigration so I tend to think your agents stuffed up and did not submit correct paperwork
Did you check the gym used by the agency was govt approved and submitted all course docs, 6 plus months course? Some agents use non regulated gyms. Malaysia is the toughest embassy to get DTV approval. Much easier doing it yourself in Vietnam, Laos Indonesia.
Were you on an ED visa or extension of stay? If the latter have you cancelled it? And did you attend all the classes required by the school you attended?
You need to answer the question about the ED visa and if it was an extension, did you go to immigration and cancel it. People can't help if you don't answer
What do you mean by “sports category”? Do you mean soft power? If so, what soft power? Muay Thai? Also, what do you mean by second time via “proof of funds” category. All categories require proof of funds. Do you mean remote work?
- Most agencies that help with your application are helping you gather the right documents. However, it sounds like you went with an agency that might have just made up documents. This is probably the issue . Now that you have been rejected twice, it will be very difficult to get approval
Perhaps the conditions of the previous “education” visa were not met, as we know “education” visas were used as a means of living here long term and there were “schools” springing up everywhere offering these visas and class attendance was “optional” authorities clamped down on this after covid, and many got caught up in the clampdown….
I got the same situation with you, I went to Vietnam apply for the DTV Visa, the Royal Thai Embassy replied me only 3 words, ( wrong person information ) I really don't understand their replied, I submitted all information as my personal details, Would like to ask your application via the agency ( by soft power ) , the agency, do they refund the agency fees for you while your DTV application not approved ? WILL YOU keep on going to apply for the DTV Visa through another agency or apply it from different Asian countries again ?
