They will give you a temporary license for 1 year.

When you renew it you'll get 2 years if you are still on a tourist visa.

We must move in in different circles.

I know a number of older guys who have been here for years and have had their nest-eggs whittled away. Now, due to the exchange rates their pensions alone no longer make the requirements.
